The myths you're told about skincare and what no one ever told you about the portions you should use of each product - Liza Pons

It is increasingly common to hear the phrase " I went to the dermatologist today."

The WHO (World Health Organization) estimates that in Mexico alone, the density of dermatologists per 100,000 inhabitants in metropolitan areas accounts for 50% of the country's total population.

It's incredible how many specialists today tell you about skincare, or what we know is that we should use certain products. But let's be honest, with such a wide range of products on offer, it's becoming increasingly difficult to decide which brand to trust with our skincare, and the problem doesn't end there; even if you have the best product on the market, it won't have the desired effect if you don't use the right amount.

And how do you know the right amount?

Keep reading and you'll find out.

I want to open a parenthesis and mention that the first step to getting that dream skin is nutrition, so we recommend reading our article : A GUIDE TO YOUR DIET: GREEN FOODS THAT CAN'T BE MISSING, as it will surely help you achieve your goal.

We already know that what they tell you about skincare is that you need to add a facial soap, a hydrating serum, a facial cream, and one that is exclusively for eyes to your routine.

And now for the best-kept secret, to talk about quantities, I'll use fruit. You can place the product in your clean palm and imagine the size of these to equalize them in proportion.

Facial soap: If your soap is formulated in liquid form, it is best to use a portion the size of a cherry. If your soap is foaming, it is recommended to use two pumps for your face and one for your neck.

Moisturizer is ideal to use after washing your face and the portion you should use is the size of an almond.

Hydrating serum: Ideally, you should use 3 to 4 drops on your face and neck. Try to use the serum about three times a week, and on the other days, use your moisturizer as usual. This way, you'll avoid clogging your pores, and your skin will use the serum like a vitamin.

Eye cream is unlike serum if used daily and the ideal portion is similar to a pea. You can place it on the tip of your ring finger, which is the weakest, and apply it from the inside out.

UV protector, possibly the most important part of your entire routine, should be applied to your face and reapplied every three and a half hours, as this will ensure the protective agent is present on your skin throughout the day. If you're not a woman who likes the sensation, we recommend opting for a powder that includes this protection or a spray-on protector. It's definitely something you can't leave out of your routine.

Now you know, what they tell you about skincare may be true, but now you know a little more,

Make sure you always go to a professional and take care of yourself both inside and out.
