Mistakes you should avoid to make your jeans last longer - Liza Pons

One of the main problems we women face in the fashion industry is finding the perfect pair of jeans, and once we find them, the real problem comes: making those jeans last more than six months.

That's why the LIZAPONS team set out to investigate the mistakes that damage denim so you can avoid them and make your jeans last longer.

Mistake number 1

Wash them with fabric softener

When you wash your jeans with fabric softener, the denim fibers swell, loosening the fabric and causing it to stretch too much, making it watery and loose.

We do not recommend washing your jeans with fabric softener unless they are slightly tight, and in that case we recommend not doing it more than twice so that they do not lose their original shape.

Error number 2

Wash them every two uses

Another huge mistake we make all the time is denim, and it's a tough fabric that, unless it's a very light shade, will look dirty.

You can take advantage of this by washing your jeans every four times you wear them. In addition to saving water, we guarantee that it will extend the life of your jeans by 100% and the pants will not lose their original color.

Error number 3

Put them in the dryer

Another serious mistake because in addition to shrinking the pants, the tone of the denim will gradually become duller.

It will also make the jeans look old and also full of lint.

Error number 4

Wash them with other clothes that are not denim

The problem with washing them with other garments that aren't denim is that the jeans will gradually begin to fill with threads and lint, and they'll also lose their color because other garments can damage them.

To avoid this problem, we recommend washing them only with denim garments.

Error number 5

Wash them with soap powder

Of all the errors listed in this article, this is possibly the least serious.

However, if your intention is to extend the life of your jeans, we recommend washing them with liquid soap, as this is just as effective but much less abrasive than powdered detergent.

And it will help you preserve the original color of your clothes.

Now tell us, dear reader…

How many of these mistakes have been made?

Do you know any other ways to make your jeans last longer?
